MOUNTAIN KIT – YOU MUST CARRY THIS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.

Essential equipment for all entrants – full waterproofs (jacket & trousers), hat & gloves, boots or fell shoes

Additional Equipment – map, compass, torch, simple first aid kit, survival bivi bag, pen/pencil and whistle – We recommend that you also carry food and drink.

All entrants must carry the above equipment, even if in a group.

ELIGIBILITY

There is no age restriction on any route, but under 18s MUST be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian/responsible adult.

All entrants will be given a wristband to wear at the start of the walk, which is used to register the entrant at each checkpoint.  There is a £10 charge if the wristband is damaged or lost.

All entrants that need to retire, where possible should do so at a checkpoint. This fact will then get recorded and you should make your way back to the registration point to hand in your wristband. This will ensure that you have been accounted for and we know that you are off the hill.

All starters must check in at the finish before leaving for home. Failure to do so will cause the organisers undue work and worry in trying to verify your location and safety.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team at their sole discretion will decide on safety grounds whether the event can take place, and the organisers accept no liability in respect of any parties’ losses or expenses in the event the walk is subsequently amended or cancelled. Where possible, we will endeavour to publish any available updates prior to the walk on this website.

Stick to obvious, walked paths on the mountains. Do not cross heathland etc, since much of it is a protected, fragile environment.

Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed to participate.

No refunds will be given for any cancellations made after 5th February 2026.
