Black Dragon Challenge – 18th April 2026
The annual Black Dragon Challenge is taking place once again in 2026 and is organised to raise funds for the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team.
The Black Dragon Challenge first took place in April 2019 and replaced the Black Mountains Roundabout (BMR) which had been running on an annual basis since 1982.
The challenge event which starts and finishes at Llangors Community Centre, Llangors takes place in the beautiful area of the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog).
All three routes visit the highest point in The Black Mountains, Waun Fach, at a height of 811 metres.

“I am delighted to support Brecon Mountain Rescue Team in this fantastic fundraising event. It is an opportunity for people to challenge themselves, and enjoy the glorious environment of the Black Mountains, whilst also raising money for a wonderful and vital cause.”
(Kate Humble, BMRT Ambassador)
